The First Ironic Birthday...

Happy birthday to me,

Happy birhtday to me,

Happy birthday, Happy birthday,

Happy birthday to me!!!

Thank you very much! Especially to everyone else who remembered, can't express my gratitude enough to you guys. ^^

I made a list of the people who went out of their way and congratulated me first in the morning.

So here are the first blood awards:
- First, ever = Dieta Febriyanti (around 12am, Australian time)
Well, can't be helped about that, you were like 5 hours earlier than anyone else, sis. Oh, since you won the "first, ever" award, the others will go to the people right after you.

- First on Yahoo Messenger = Adithya Kirana a.k.a Henshin (01:01am)
The cup goes to my baptized-nephew, the first (2nd after Dieta) one to go and congratulated me on the messenger. Thanks a lot. :D

- First on Facebook = Alissa Ully Ashar (around 12am)
Now here's something quite unexpected, the first (again, 2nd after Dieta) one who congratulated me on Facebook was a generic beauty from the Electrical Engineering 2009th generation. Thank you again Icha. ^_^

- First on phone = Auntie Inet & Ryan Adriansyah (somewhere around 05:30am)
My closest auntie and my brother (cousin) who is a member of the 'baka quartet' in the family (me included). Thank you very much, love you both.

- First on SMS = Auntie Indri (03:55am)
Also known as "Mama I" (no, she's not from MI6 or MIB), another member of my precious family. My auntie who's the mother of my dearest sister. Thank you and a big hug too. ^_^

- First in person = My mother (04:00am)
THE most precious member in my great family, the one who gave birth to me, the one who I'll love for eternity, my own mother. Thank you mom, I swear I'll return the favor. =)

It's supposed to be a great day of the year, really.. But this birthday also came with a very bad news...

Another one of my uncle passed away around 05:00am today... And, yet again, there was nothing that I could do to prevent it happening...

And he was on the phone with my mother last night too, and even claimed that he's all fine and healthy yesterday...

Dear Allah, please... Forgive every wrong that he had made, and guide his soul to be on Your side... Amen...

Well, gotta go again to the campus, I haven't settled the score with El Padrino for today. Let's hope that this will be the last time that I have to go around and make repairs to my final project report.

Oh, and here are my ISML votes that I made yesterday

We're Doing it Live, People

Do you know those kind of feeling in RPG games whenever you're sure that you're on the last floors of the final dungeon, and you know that you'll face the end boss real soon?

Well, I'm feeling it now; My final project report now only lack the length. I'm adding some more explanatory stuffs so El Padrino will (FINALLY) be satisfied tomorrow. Let's hope that I'll make it....

As for tonight's news... Well, apparently there's a rat running around in my crib, showing up and hiding periodically.

I also updated my blog design a little bit, it looks better now I think.

And for the big news:

Completely Harmless, the epic short-indie movie that me and my friends made, is now on Youtube.

I've officially condemned our idiocy to public view now. I guess when you're about to turn 24 you'll do something crazy, huh?

That's all for now, back to work, back to work. Oh, don't forget to vote for ISML tonight.

Meng'kebo'

I've never thought that I would see the day when I actually encounter this peanut brand.

So I was at my friends' lab on campus, and they opened a plastic filled with gift snacks. And one of them was.. this..

Okay, there's nothing wrong about the grammar, but since it was a completely obvious copy of "Dua Kelinci" from my homeland, why not go with the "Two Rabbits" title? Well, in the end we came to a conclusion that it was meant to be a sequel for the Double Dragon.

The title says "Roasted Menglembu Peanut". This really sparked our interest to find out about this.. Menglembu.. Seriously, it was a new vocabulary for all of us there.

One of my friends was genius enough to describe it as "a Malaysian slang for 'Kumpul Kebo' (an act of cohabitation)", we laughed our asses off. Here's the man responsible.

Now I know some of you people might be confused as to why "Menglembu" can be translated into "Kumpul Kebo". I'll do my best to guide you through your confusion, despite being so damn sleepy myself...

First off, let's take a look at the word itself, "Menglembu". In Indonesian, words that starts with "Meng-" are a verb. So if we use that analogy in the word, it basically means "Doing Lembu", or "Doing Lembu stuffs".

Second, let's take a look at the "Lembu" part. "Lembu" in Indonesian basically means a cow. And as you may have known, cows reminds you of buffalos, and vice versa. And a buffalo in Indonesian is a "kerbau", which usually pronounced "kebo" in a casual way by most people.

In case you haven't met any cattle in your life (pitiful you..), here are some pictures. This is a Lembu

And this is a buffallo

Now if we put those two analogy together, "Menglembu" can be described as "Doing Lembu stuffs", which can also described as "Doing Buffalo stuffs"... And with a little bit of creativity, could be refined into "Mengkebo", and finally into "Kumpul Kebo"..

Some neat play of words, huh? Well... Not exactly...

There's still something else that bothered us though, on the back of the package, there is a French translation for the "Roasted Menglembu Peanut". Yet, on the distribution list, there's no indication that it was sold anywhere in France. Hmm...

Hell, whatever. *dundundun dunnnn dunnn dunnnn dundundun dunnnn dunnnn dunnnn*

Oh, if you're like me and had absolutely no clue on what in the nine hells is a Menglembu, you can check it out here. Though some of you might want to search it by yourself on google, there's a quite nice picture in the search results. =p

[Author's note: Now can anyone tell me why cohabitation is called
Kumpul Kebo in Indonesian?? 'Cause even up 'till now I don't understand why]

Tra Vita e Morte

I got some serious scolding by el padrino today... so much that I don't feel like to go on any longer....

I really want to forget everything and be done with it.. I mean, how could anyone expect a perfect work that could explain every detail to the professors from some academically idiot person who, even until now, have no idea why he decided to enroll in this hell, all by himself??

But I know quitting right now would be the dumbest shit that I would ever do in my 24 years of living, even dumber than falling in love to my own best friend during 2nd year on senior high which results in the end of our friendship for good.

Especially I've also made a promise to my dearest sister that I'll graduate no matter what... And she was also the only one of my siblings to actually encouraged me directly... Failing now would be a total insult to her...

Dear God, I don't want that...

So please.. I'm begging You... Give me strength to overcome this final nightmare.... I want a happy ending where everyone can smile and be happy..

The post title refers to two things:

1. My final project report is at it's final trimming. If El Padrino won't accept this again, I don't know what else would happen.

2. ISML is starting its Diamond Round. Posting votes now.

Oh, and, by the way.....

Never thought I'd come this far in blog-writing. =D

If anyone (if there is any) complains that the picture was taken from someone else's blog, then I'm sorry. I currently don't have time to make my own.

I promise that I'll make one myself for the next commemorations after everything's over.

Guess It's Still Easier Than Finding a Water Chip in the Middle of Nowhere

Haven't posted anything for a while now, sorry.

I'm nearing the end of my currently-active main quest: Complete your college period. The quest that has been delayed for more than 2 years, because there are so many side-quests and level-f**k mobs along the way.

Right now, this quest took me to Petrochina, Jakarta. My uncle suggested that I seek some help from one of his employee. So, here we are, in a midst of understanding a shitload of algorithm in hopes that I can finally be able to translate them to human language.

Let's hope that everything will turn out for the better afterward, ok?

Well then, back to work now..
